Acropetal* strategic communications for science and technology brings two decades of experience working with researchers, startups, and nonprofits to develop communications strategies that help them achieve their goals.
*Many plants and fungi develop acropetally, with development proceeding upward from their base. If you look at such a leaf for instance, rather than a uniform snapshot of development, as you may see in animal embryos, you'll see instead a gradient of development along its length, telling a rich story at once of its history, as well as its nascent future. A simple snapshot can not do justice to an organization either, because it too has a rich story.
Our Work
Acropetal was founded to address the common challenges that our clients face:
If you can't define and articulate the impact your organization has, it's hard to attract funding and advance your work. Many groups struggle to do this effectively. Acropetal can help you to evaluate the effects you're having that go beyond mere numerical measures (which are often misleading).
Acropetal will help you use written, visual, and multimedia tools to describe your work and explain the impact you're having. The goal is to tell a compelling story about your work that meets your audience where they are. We also offer individual and group coaching to help you present that story more clearly and engagingly.
It doesn't help you to figure out your impact and craft a powerful story if the right individuals and audiences never hear about it. Acropetal can work with you to figure out who needs to learn about your innovations and how best to reach them. This will raise your visibility and your future impact.
